Hello, All.
Well, this is my very first post on my very first AMG! forum. Love this site, very informative, and I shall continue to visit often. ;D
I think I have the unusual distinction of having been bitten by the anime bug about, oh, '90 or so, and then committing the sin of Losing Interest........! But, about a month ago, a certain movie about a certain divine lady and one really lucky college student rekindled my interest.
Let's see...I have all 5 OAVs, the Movie, several issues of the DH manga, and I have seen up to ep 8 of the new series.
As well as a rapidly growing DVD collection ;D
Looking forward to the rest of the show, and chatting with everyone here!
Regards

Well Stringfellow, welcome to the forum.
Here's a little trivia for you. If you already knew it, oh well.
The name of Urd's broom was first written phonetically as "String ferro Houki" in the original Kodansha version. Houki meaning "broom", the logical translation would be Stringfellow the Broom.
But "Houki" also sounds very much like the English word "Hawk" and if you can remember a show called Airwolf, the main charactor was a super-duper helicopter pilot named, (ready for this?) Stringfellow Hawk (or just "Hawk").
Even if Mr. Fujishima hadn't seen the show, they'd made a video game based on it (a wild, shoot-'em-up, helicopter gunship action type) that he'd probably played, and since there was a ready-made pun there (Houki - Hawk), his naming the broom after the show's protagonist is right in charactor for Kosuko-san.
This pun/guest reference name was discovered by hojyoin and first posted over on the Dark Horse Manga Mania forum.

I had completely forgotten about that show, but you jogged my memory... Clever of him! P.S. I also remember watching a show on PBS on helicopters, and they explained why it is impossible for a helo to fly faster than sound. Regards
