I understand that Fujishima got his idea for A!MS from an illustration of a Goddess of luck that the Crew of "You're under Arrest" pray to in a Chapter of that Manga series. Does anyone know WHICH Chapter or Tankoubon that this appeared in? Also,is there an URL to a site which this may be on. I've looked and just find references to the above but no Images of the actual illustration.

Go find the translated chapter 196, that one-page manga was included with that chapter by scanlators.

Cool. Strange that it hasn't shown up anywhere else since it's been out so long.

Not really, it was only a promotional advertisement and not included with any of the You're Under Arrest collections. So unless someone had saved that ad and scanned it, it wouldn't have seen much distribution outside of Japan. (I had asked some people who were either going to Japan or had contacts there to try and find it, but they had no luck.)
What surprised me was how different the ad turned out to be from what I'd heard about it. I believe most of the sources that had written about the ad had gotten their information from a biography of Mr. Fujishima that Dark Horse and Studio Proteus put out shortly after they started releasing the series here in America.
According to what they said Mr. Fujishima told them, it was supposed to have been an ad showing the cast of You're Under Arrest asking the goddess of luck for help winning a promotional Tee-shirt contest and that Mr. Fujishima liked the goddess charactor he'd drawn so much that he'd created a new series based on her.
The actual ad of course shows the cast of YUA as charators in a little mini-drama about the Tee-shirt contest with Miyuki and Natsumi as the goddess and a girl needing her help. That's a little different from the published version, but we don't know if Mr. Fujishima remembered it wrong or the author of the biography was confused. Not that it matters.
I've changed the entry on my time line to reflect the version that has been released as the original inspiration and that's good enough for me.
