gateway.cjb.net/AMG/Timeline/Career-timeline.htmI’m looking at this timeline, which is a fantastic and important thing to have for any series, but its just confusing me. I understand the "Temporal Anomaly", but it’s the dates which throw me off. In the 1st year it says- “Wall calendar matches October 1998”. Shouldn’t that be 1988? How the hell can it be 1995 in K1s 4th year?? How the hell can it be June 1997 in the Dr. Moreau arc?

Ah yesss... Welcome to the confusing world of Mr. Fujishima.
It took me a while to get it all straightened out in my head too.
I've addressed these questions in articles 12 and 26 in the new article section back at the G2G website, so please read them.
In general though, it works like this...
Time in Mr. Fujishima's world follows a normal seasonal and monthly pattern, summer follows spring, April follows March. While at first there was a close correlation between the month the manga was released and the time of the story, this sorta ended after Terrible Master Urd. Now the stories progress at their own rate, but still in proper monthly sequence.
The year in a story though appears to be based on the year the manga was published, i.e. if a story was published in 1997, than any reference dates such as calendars or postmarks would be for 1997. Thus in a long story arc covering a few days, the first chapter might be in 2001 and the last chapter in 2002 (ie the Lind arc). If there were calendars in the first and last story, they would then be depicted as the same month but different years (ie July 2001 and July 2002).
This makes dating things a lot of fun since usually all you get is a partial view of the calendar and you have to match it to a real month and year. It took a lot of trial and error to figure Mr. Fujishima's system out.
And I shudder to think what the TV anime is going to do to future attempts to rationalize things.
P.S. 1998 is a typo, its supposed to be 1988.
Hope this answers your confusion.

Exactly where would you place the movie? Which chapter (use Japanese chapters) ---- Having read all that stuff now I get the feeling you’re not sure where to place the movie, if at all.
Regarding the timeline, well I want to say Domo Arigato for the heads up. Once I start reading it, I’m going to use this knowledge and read it how it should be read, making sure that even though it would say "1997" somewhere, I’m to ignore all that.
The only bad news would be the wait between volumes. I decided to read the Manga from the beginning and only from the beginning, while collecting volumes 21 onwards. I’m going to have to watch out for that anomaly thingy as well, meaning I will read it all over the place lol. ---- I’ve noticed that on the timeline, you state that chapter 127 is Dark Horse’s chapter 113. This wont effect it from volume 21+ would it??

Actually, I'm pretty sure the movie hasn't happened yet in the manga, either as part of the story or as something that would have happened independently. (And yes I've written a couple of long and complicated articles on it.)
Just read the stories in sequence and don't worry about it. Just remember it all takes place during a Japanese college students 4+ years in school, irregardless of how long the manga has been published.
The anomaly isn't noticable until you try to put it down on paper.
Chapter 127 was included in TPB 19/20. Both of the Endless Battle chapters were included with the Sora arc so that future Dark Horse TPBs would match their Japanese counterpoints. TPB 21 will have the same stories as Kodansha's number 21.
At risk of getting Les mad at me, he wound up using an older timelime when he transcibed everything. His versions of the timelines are more colorful and easier to read, but I can't reach them to keep updating and revising.
If you want to see the current versions of the timelines check page 1 of the Oh/AH My Goddess Newsletter over on the Dark Horse Manga mania forum.

Lan, thanks for pointing out typo. Tim, if it's not too much of a hassle, you can send me periodic revisions of the timelines. I cannot promise to update them quickly but i'll squeeze in whatever time allows P.S: I'll be uploading more articles soon, including the long one on Peorth. Maybe I'll toss in a couple of artbook scans for that update
